INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONTRACT RESEARCH ORGANIZATION (CRO)
Your Trusted Partner for BSL-2 and BSL-3 High Throughput Screening of Anti-Infective Agents
With the persistence of infectious disease cases globally and the rise of antimicrobial resistance, research into anti-infective prevention and treatment remains one of the most critical public health concerns today. The development of antibiotics, antivirals and other antimicrobial agents requires vast resources and deep expertise. At Microbiologics, we are committed to sharing our resources and expertise to support researchers and developers in their quest to discover novel, life-changing anti-infective agents. Together with our partners, we are empowering science to advance a safer, healthier world.

OUR CRO SERVICES
Antiviral Testing Services
We offer a full menu of standard and custom in vitro assays for screening antiviral compounds against panels of human and animal viruses. Our team of experienced virologists will guide you through customizing an assay program that delivers on your project goals throughout each phase of development. Examples include: Virus Titration Assays, TCID50, PFU, Virus Neutralization Assays, Hemagglutination Inhibition Assays, Neuraminidase Inhibition Assays and more.
Antibacterial and Antifungal Testing Services
We have an extensive biobank comprising more than 11,000 clinical pathogens, including those with characterized resistance, to screen compounds against. Our team is highly skilled in standard and custom in vitro assays for antibacterial and antifungal R&D, as well as microbiome studies. Assays include susceptibility testing, mechanism of action, resistance development, time-kill, drug combination testing, test method development, beta-lactamase assays, phage assays, and many more. We have experience working with a wide variety of organisms including anaerobes, yeast, mold, and cell culture for intracellular activity with NTM, GC, and Chlamydia.
Custom Viral Stock Production
Microbiologics has developed and optimized viral stock production methods for BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens and has created a method to inactivate virus allowing others to work with the material under less stringent conditions. Our Global Virology Center in San Diego has received ISO 13485 certification for its BSL-2 and BSL-3 viral stock production methods.
We also offer reverse genetics methods to create and produce recombinant Influenza viruses for assays to support vaccine and drug development.
Assay Development
Developing assays for antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal testing is crucial. Microbiologics’ approach to assay development is to ensure accuracy, sensitivity, and reproducibility of results. We have a proven record of success in navigating the anti-infective drug development process from discovery and development through clinical research and FDA review. Our team is skilled in a variety of cell-culture based assays for the assessment of anti-infective compounds.
