MicroBioLogics® Supplies Original Reference Cultures from International Culture Collections

As you probably already know, MicroBioLogics manufactures authentic and traceable lyophilized microorganism derivatives for Quality Control testing. What you may not know is that MicroBioLogics is also a licensed supplier of original reference cultures from world renowned culture collections including NCIMB, NCTC and NCPF.

The term "original reference culture" is used to describe microbial cultures that are supplied directly from a culture collection. A culture collection is a biological resource center that acquires, authenticates, maintains, preserves and distributes biological materials for the scientific community. Original reference cultures are usually used for research purposes.

MicroBioLogics has partnerships with NCIMB of Aberdeen, Scotland as well as the Health Protection Agency Culture Collections NCTC and NCPF, also based in the United Kingdom. These partnerships provide MicroBioLogics and their global distribution network with immediate access to approximately 17,000 microorganism strains.

If you are interested in purchasing original reference cultures, contact your MicroBioLogics Authorized Distributor or MicroBioLogics directly. Since its inception at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1946 the NCPF has been an integral part of the Mycology Reference Laboratory, which means that the expertise is available on site for strain authentication. At present, the collection holds over 4,000 fungal strains.
