Most lot numbers will still work for creating a Certificate. However, if you are having trouble creating a C of A it may be due to the new lot numbers. | Etest® Metallo Beta-Lactamase Controls Available Now --

The positive control for the Etest® MBL strip is now available from MicroBioLogics. The Etest® MBL strip is designed to detect Metallo Beta-Lactamases (MBL). MBL are enzymes whose activity is dependent on divalent cations like zinc or cadmium. The positive control is S. maltophilia, ATCC® 13636™*, MicroBioLogics® #01020. The negative control is P. aeruginosa, ATCC® 27853™*, MicroBioLogics® #0353. The Etest® MBL strip is approved for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) around the world with the exception of the United Stated and Japan where it can be used for research purposes only. |

| Control Organisms for the AmpC Test Coming Soon --

MicroBioLogics® will have the positive controls for the AmpC Test available soon. The AmpC Disk Test is used for detecting the presence of AmpC Beta-Lactamases in Enterobacteriaceae and some other select species.
The strong positive control, E. cloacae, ATCC® BAA-1143™*, MicroBioLogics® #1018, produces E. cloacae chromosomal AmpC. The weakly positive control, K. pneumoniae, ATCC® BAA-1144™*, MicroBioLogics® #1019, produces DHA-1, an inducible plasmid-mediated AmpC. The negative control is E. coli, ATCC® 25922™*, MicroBioLogics® #0335. |

MicroBioLogics is currently in the process of implementing a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System that will help us serve you better. When complete, this new system will give you online access to view your order and tracking information. Also, MicroBioLogics will eventually begin invoicing electronically in an effort to help the environment and reduce paper usage.

St. Cloud, MN, (January 5, 2009) – MicroBioLogics, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the assets of Gibson Laboratories and established a new, wholly-owned subsidiary, Gibson Laboratories, LLC. Gibson Laboratories, based in Lexington, Kentucky, will retain key members of its management team who will report to MicroBioLogics CEO, Robert Coborn. Gibson Laboratories founder and CEO, Cecil Gibson, announced his retirement from the business concurrently with the transaction.
